Dear HFMA Oklahoma Members & Friends,
Yesterday, your board met and prayed about the best direction forward for our chapter. The 65th Anniversary Annual Meeting presented by Eide Bailly at The Skirvin Hilton next month has been postponed to August 13-14th. Anyone who would like their meeting registration refunded, please let us know.
The board has implemented a Pandemic Response Committee chaired by Phillip Smith, with committee members Louise Kiper, Tyler Bernier, Dr. Ann Paul, and myself. This committee will review information concerning COVID-19 to distribute widely to the chapter. If you have any educational healthcare financial information that would be relevant to our members, please send it to the committee. We are also working to host a webinar or conference call in the coming weeks. More information to come.
On a personal note, we are living in an unprecedented time filled with much uncertainty about our way of life. I am reminded of one of the passages from Ecclesiastes 3, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” In this season, I ask that you please join us in helping to move through this pandemic together.
With the economic downturn, non-profit organizations and charities are often hit the hardest. I have contributed today to the City Rescue Mission of Oklahoma City, our featured charity for the upcoming 65th Anniversary Annual Meeting. If you are moved to make a donation, please visit https://cityrescue.org/donate/. If not, I would encourage you to find a worthy organization in your local community.
Friends, we will get through this together.
